PayBright was founded by enterprising college students at Furman University in Greenville, SC in 2012. Since then, the company has worked with over 5,000 businesses spanning most of the country. While still a young company, PayBright has found success by recognizing that the success of the customers it serves is crucial. That’s the logic behind its core concept “merchant services, done right.”
Note that this PayBright review is about the merchant services company located in New Jersey. There is also a company with the same name (and operating in the financial industry) located in Canada. The two companies appear unrelated. We’ve reached out to PayBright to confirm.
PayBright helps you accept major credit and debit cards, including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. You’ll be able to take traditional magnetic stripe cards, EMV chip cards, and contactless payments including Apple Pay.
PayBright also offers acceptance in multiple methods. Whether you want to take payments in a brick-and-mortar retail store or restaurant, an online website, through an invoice, or on the go using a mobile solution, the company offers options for each method.
For those businesses taking payments on the go, you can get a free mobile swiper compatible with Android or Apple devices. Mobile payments are a great option for any business that is frequently away from a fixed location, such as delivery-based services and vendors that sell at fairs or tradeshows.
For ecommerce, PayBright states that it offers integrations into many of the leading e-commerce platforms. Additionally, the company partners with KRATE web developers to help you create a mobile-friendly website. Separate costs for using web development through KRATE apply.
Additionally, PayBright offers next day funding at no additional charge. In order to have funds deposited next day, you need to batch out by 11pm EST.
In addition to all the payment processing options you’d expect, PayBright offers gift cards, loyalty programs, and business funding options.
PayBright owns Factor4Gift, offering businesses a customizable gift card and loyalty program at no monthly charge. The company states that it wants to offer value to your business and help you grow, which is why they don’t charge for services that their competitors do. The company points out that 18% of gift cards go unredeemed, which can lead to more profit for your business.
The PayBright program includes customized or standard-design gift cards. You’ll need to order a minimum of 25 standard design cards or 150 custom designed cards. Cards start at $10 for an order of 25 standard cards and range for $550 for 1,000 custom designed cards.
There are no setup or artwork fees, and no per-transactions redemption fee.
The company also states it can help you tailor a customized loyalty program as either a punch card-style system or a points-based system. There’s also an app for your customers to track their loyalty rewards as they go.
The gift and loyalty programs are compatible with many popular machines and POS systems, including models by:
For businesses looking to secure funds for expansion, advertising, or other business purposes, PayBright offers affordable business lending with an option for nearly every business.
Funds are available in amounts from $2,000 to $200,000 and can be deposited in your account as soon as 24 hours after approval.
PayBright typically recommends Verifone Vx520, Ingenico iCT220 or iCT250, or Dejavoo Z8, Z9, or Z11 terminals, and can also offer compatible PIN pads.
However, the company offers a full range of equipment, including mobile EMV solutions, EMV/NFC Payment terminals, virtual terminal software, invoicing systems, QuickBooks integration, and integration into hundreds of POS systems. (PayBright can integrate into any POS that is compatible with First Data or TSYS.)
PayBright’s proprietary mobile processing solutions are available for both Android and Apple devices. Virtual terminals are available for any computer with an internet connection. For ecommerce payments, PayBright is compatible with popular options including Authorize.Net, NMI, Global One, and Bridge Pay.
PayBright boasts that it offers fairly priced hardware with no unfair leases or expensive terminals. The company offers a free terminal swap program for businesses with existing equipment. Otherwise, PayBright sells equipment at discounted prices.
PayBright tells CardFellow that it promises no annual rate increases and no early termination fees. That’s great news, since those are two things we feel strongly about here at CardFellow. Furthermore, PayBright states that the company strives to offer fair and affordable pricing from day one, not after you complain about fees.

Despite being in business for several years now, PayBright doesn’t have a lot of online reviews. The company has an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau, but no reviews (positive or negative) on the BBB website.
We also came up empty looking at Google Reviews and Yelp. However, there are a few Facebook reviews, as well as testimonials on PayBright’s website.
On its official Facebook page, PayBright has 6 reviews for a 5-star total rating. That said, only one of the reviews provides any text commentary, and at least a couple of the reviews are from users that list PayBright as their employer. The one review that provides text commentary states that he’s always happy with the service from PayBright.
On its website and in communication with CardFellow, PayBright provided sample customer reviews. Customers praised PayBright for saving their business money, always answering the phone, conducting themselves in a professional manner, and offering a free gift card program.

Unlike general web reviews, verified reviews are posted by businesses that have chosen the processor's quote through CardFellow's marketplace, and CardFellow has confirmed with the processor that the business is using its service. Businesses can update verified reviews at any time to ensure the review accurately reflects the processor's performance over time.
Unlike verified reviews which are validated by CardFellow, web reviews can be submitted by anyone viewing this profile. While we validate these reviews as best we can, CardFellow does not verify that a reviewer is using or has used a processor's service.

I love working with a more personable service that understands how small fees add up for small businesses. I have met with Chad & Jake and trust their ethics and eagerness to support their clients' growth. Several of my clients prefer them now. Bottom line, they aren't robots that will abandon you when you're stuck, they put their heart into their relationships and they'll save you a ton of money. :)

Don’t use paybright. I've been ripped off $200 and they won’t reply to emails.

I’ve used PayBright at all of my businesses. Their sales reps are honest, transparent and extremely helpful. Their rates are better than any other company I’ve spoken to and their customer service is top notch. I wouldn’t work with any other company to handle my merchant services and neither should you.
