Tablet POS systems are increasingly popular, and if you’re considering one, you might have Bindo on your radar. The system is iPad-based and offers features for a variety of business types. When using the Bindo POS with a credit card processing account, you can accept major credit and debit cards as well as new EMV chip cards and Apple Pay with the mobile POS reader. But taking credit cards is a basic function of most POS systems these days, so let’s take a look at what else you can do in this Bindo POS review.

Bindo Features

In addition to card processing, the Bindo POS system offers plenty of additional functions, including mobile POS options, an online storefront, inventory tracking, timeclock, QuickBooks integration, customer management, and a gift and loyalty card program. The company offers this video introduction to its system for retailers:

But the system isn’t only designed for retail. Restaurants and online stores can also use Bindo POS. With Bindo’s POS online storefront option, you can keep your existing website as is, and simply add a line of code to start selling online with a full ecommerce site. The storefront is customizable and Bindo handles all of the back-end processing. Some customizations available include button colors, background colors, product layout, and image size.

For those that accept payments in-store, chances are that at some point, you’re likely to have an internet outage at your business. Bindo offers a “store and forward” mode for those times. Store and forward allows offline transactions so you can process during temporary internet outages and not miss out on sales because of technical internet problems. Since fewer customers carry cash, you’ll cut down on lost sales that result if you have to say, ”Sorry, we can’t take cards right now.”

The company offers plenty of features that will appeal to different businesses, including a mobile POS (mPOS) option, inventory management, a timeclock feature, QuickBooks integration, customer management, and gift cards or loyalty cards.

Mobile POS

Bindo offers an NFC-capable mobile POS reader that can be used to accept EMV chip cards, traditional magnetic stripe cards, and contactless payment methods like Apple Pay. The mPOS device integrates directly with the Bindo countertop POS system for seamless payment acceptance and tracking.

Inventory Management

Bindo includes an inventory management function that includes a fast way to populate your inventory database: Scan a barcode and you’ll retrieve product information from the extensive Bindo database, including product descriptions, images, and more. Adding and deleting inventory is quick and updates immediately. Real-time reporting allows for an accurate assessment of stock levels, ensuring that you can reorder before you run out of your most popular items. Keeping an eye on inventory helps ensure you won’t miss sales and lower customer satisfaction.

Timeclock

For employee time tracking, Bindo offers a PIN-based timeclock system that allows your employees to punch in right through the Bindo system. Additionally, Bindo offers a picture option that takes a photo when employees clock in and out to ensure only authorized employees are using the PIN.

QuickBooks Integration

A common question for those who use QuickBooks for accounting is, “Will this POS integrate?” For Bindo POS, the answer is yes. It can be set up to integrate with QuickBooks online for easy management of inventory, cash flow, and customers. Daily register closing is synced seamlessly for accurate accounting and to eliminate the need for manual data entry.

Customer Management

An integrated Customer Relationship Management (CRM) feature makes it easy to collect and analyze important data about customers. Set up a customer profile at the time of sale, view contact information, see sales by month, year, and lifetime, watch profit margins, and more.

Bindo CRM

You can then use the information to tailor promotions and marketing campaigns, offer coupons to select customers, or ensure that you always have your top customers’ favorite items in stock when they’re most likely to come by your business.

Gift Cards and Loyalty Program

Gift cards are an increasingly popular option for many occasions, including birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, and graduations. Bindo offers the ability to create your own customized gift cards with your business logo, so customers have the option to give the gift of your product or service while allowing their recipient the freedom to choose the actual item.

Additionally, Bindo offers a multi-tier loyalty program to track customer spending and reward loyal, repeat customers. Before you get started, be sure to check out this article on starting a loyalty program

Credit Card Processing with Bindo

Good news: Bindo works with a wide variety of credit card processors, giving you the flexibility to continue working with your current processor or partner with one of Bindo’s recommended processing partners. Bindo boasts compatibility with major processors including Chase Paymentech, Global Payments, WorldPay, Bank of America Merchant Services, Vantiv, Heartland, TSYS, First Data, and more.

Having a choice of processors gives you the freedom to find the right solution for your business and to compare based on price, customer service, and other important factors.

Pricing for Credit Card Processing

Since Bindo doesn’t handle credit card processing directly, you actually have a much better chance of securing low cost pricing for taking credit cards. Many companies can support Bindo, including those that place quotes through CardFellow. If you’d like to get free, no-obligation quotes to review privately, use CardFellow’s quote comparison tool.

Reporting

Robust reporting options are available through Bindo POS. You can view detailed information about profits, costs, products sold, refunds, best sellers, and more. Information is available for individual transactions, days, and through historical comparisons.

Equipment and Software

Bindo offers a point of sale bundle featuring the following equipment:

  • WindFall iPad stand
  • Star Micronics TSP143 receipt printer
  • Socket Mobile 7Ci barcode scanner
  • APG Vasario 1616 cash drawer
  • iMag Pro II credit card reader

Note that hardware bundles do not include a tablet. Bindo works with iPads running iOS 8 or later. If you’d prefer not to purchase a bundle, you can choose from the equipment and accessories that you want to build your own custom POS setup. Bindo offers receipt and label printers, card readers, cash drawers, barcode scanners, iPad stands, produce scales, and more.  Keep in mind that costs for equipment are in addition to the rates and fees you’ll pay to accept credit cards.

The Bindo software is available for a monthly fee. The exact fee varies depending on the specifics of your business. We reached out to Bindo for more information and were told that pricing starts at $59/month. Bindo offers a free trial for bsuinesses that would like to test out the system before committing to purchase.

Bindo Q&A

What's the cost per month?

Create a free profile to compare credit card processors at CardFellow

Unfortunately, there's no one answer to that question. Bindo's "starting price" is $59/month, but the costs may also be higher depending on the package or other factors. The monthly costs quoted may not included other fees, such as the per-transaction costs for accepting payments. Additionally, the company sometimes runs promotions with particular processors and offers lower monthly costs for qualified businesses during those promotional periods.

The best way to get an accurate idea of all costs involved for Bindo is to request a quote from compatible processors using CardFellow's free, no-obligation pricing tool. Try it now.

Title: choice of processors a big plus

Comment:

Bindo doesn’t lock you in to one credit card processor, which is great since it means more choices for credit card processing.
