Pronounced the same as “revenue” the Revonu station is a fully featured point of sale system offered by processor CoCard, running on the First Data platform. It runs on either Android or Windows operating systems and features a number of helpful functions for restaurants and retailers alike. It also boasts features for appointment-based businesses like salons. Let’s look at the functions, costs, and equipment in more detail.
The POS system offers a variety of features for different industries, explained below. A customer portal available on the Revonu website also provides product manuals and training videos, support request forms, and back office logins. This video from CoCard Atlanta provides an introduction to Revonu:
For all industry types, you can expect EMV chip card integration, allowing you to ensure you’re taking cards in the most secure way possible.
For restaurants, cafes, and other food service businesses, Revonu offers features like a customizable menu and the ability to modify individual items to a customer’s specifications so you can easily change what’s on an item for an individual order without changing the entire item permanently. Additionally, you can manage tables and checks by merging or splitting parties and bills.
Online ordering capabilities help expand your customer base by allowing for pickup instead of just dine-in options, or a reservation management system lets you effectively plan for larger parties.
If you sell items by weight (like frozen yogurt or produce), you can use a weight scale for easy selling. A barcode scanner is also available if you need to scan packaged products for faster checkout.
Integrated customer management lets you track customers’ birthdays and other occasions to offer coupons or discounts. You can also view customers’ visit history and even specific previous orders.
With everything from multi-store management to commission tracking by employee, Revonu offers the latest features for general retailers. You’ll be able to build custom packages of items, track inventory and sales, issue electronic coupons, and manage the business with a suite of back office reporting tools.
Real-time inventory tracking and transfer lets you see what items are on hand and shift them to other locations as needed. You can also maintain a list of vendors, track item costs, and track profit margins.
Additionally, integrated customer management makes it easy to keep track of customers’ birthdays and anniversaries to offer coupons or other specials. You can also view order histories for individual customers.
Salons and Spas
Note that Revonu’s salon POS system is only available on an Android operating system, not Windows.
Appointment-based businesses like salons can use the appointment management tool, complete with online appointment options, recurring appointment manager, and confirmation emails to clients. Barcode scanning allows you to sell add-on products at the time of service, and you can provide electronic coupons to customers. Additionally, the system provides support for multiple merchant IDs (MIDs) in the case of several stylists or salons using the same machine at the same location but with different MIDs.
Aside from industry-specific features, Revonu offers standard reporting capabilities for sales, employee tracking, and more. Data is hosted securely in the cloud, letting you manage prices, item descriptions, and promotions from anywhere with internet access. You can export data to QuickBooks for easy reconciliation.
You’ll be able to track employee payroll and time sheets, set up a time clock function for hourly employees, and set employee access levels.
Revonu offers the FlexGift gift card and loyalty program. It’s available for both single location and multi-location businesses and lets you reward customers for their loyalty or encourage new business through gift cards.
The loyalty program allows customers to earn points for every dollar spent and redeem them for future purchases, while the gift card program provides the option to purchase gift cards in any amount. Gift cards can be emailed to customers. FlexGift provides the option to use both programs on one card, and customers can choose to download the FlexGift mobile app to store their cards on their smartphone and check balances or redeem points.
The POS System is available in a choice of packages by industry. In the restaurant industry, you can choose from bronze, silver, gold, and platinum packages, while retailers have a choice between gold, platinum, and diamond. Here’s what the packages offer:
Additional Android packages may be available through CoCard.
As with most POS systems, there are two separate pieces to costs: the cost for equipment and software, and the costs for accepting credit cards. The equipment and software costs vary depending on where you purchase the system. Revonu doesn’t publish an MSRP on its website.
The credit card processor you choose will be the one to set your pricing for transactions. Revonu is available from CoCard and runs on the First Data platform, meaning it will only work with processors that are compatible with First Data. You can request pricing by using the CardFellow no-obligation price request tool. All quotes you receive are confidential (no sales calls!) and it’s free to compare quotes from as many companies as you’d like. Try it now.
Unfortunately, Revonu reviews are virtually nonexistent as of 2017. The system doesn’t have a Better Business Bureau page, a Facebook page, Google reviews, or Yelp reviews. On the flip side, it also doesn’t appear on Ripoff Reports or other negative review consumer sites.
Neither the Revonu site nor the CoCard website has testimonials for the POS System.
