About PayJunction

PayJunction was founded in 2011, and is headquartered in California. The company offers credit card processing for a variety of industries across the United States. PayJunction offers this introduction, “Why PayJuntion?” to give you an understanding of the compny.

Services

PayJunction can set you up to accept payments in person, online, or over the phone. The company’s smart terminal ensures that you can take any payment method for in-person transactions, while the virtual terminal option lets you turn your existing computer into a secure payment portal using a web browser. You can key in card information provided by your customer and process it securely through PayJunction.

A comprehensive reporting dashboard gives you access to sales and user reports whether you have one location or multiple.

Remote Signature

PayJunction offers an interesting remote signature option, which allows you to capture customer signatures for card-not-present (CNP) transactions. Since CNP transactions have a higher risk of fraud, capturing a signature can you fight chargebacks and fraudulent transactions. You’ll simply email a receipt to your customer to sign using any browser or mobile device.

Equipment and Software

PayJunction offers a free smart terminal to qualifying businesses that sign up for credit card processing, but to receive the free terminal, you’ll need to send in two months of processing statements for the company to evaluate. In general, CardFellow suggests not sending statements to a processor before you have a quote from that processor. If you send statements first, the processor can use them to slightly undercut (or appear to slightly undercut) your current pricing instead of offering their best possible pricing.

The smart terminal is designed to accept all modern payment methods, from traditional magnetic stripe cards to new chip cards, contactless smartphone transactions, and even Apple Watch payments.

PayJunction smart terminal

With an electronic signature pad, the smart terminal helps reduce paper usage. You can go even greener by utilizing the option to email receipts to customers instead of printing.

For online transactions, PayJunction can set you up with its payment gateway, and connects to multiple popular third-party shopping cart and ecommerce solutions. PayJunction is compatible with Magento, 3dcart, Shopify, and more.

The company offers next-day deposits to help you get your funds fast.

PayJunction Rates and Fees

What can you expect to pay if you use PayJunction as your credit card processor? It depends on which plan you choose. PayJunction offers a month-to-month program, called Clean Start, or a customized rate-match plan.

PayJunction rates

The Clean Start Plan is an interchange plus pricing model. You’ll pay interchange plus a 0.75% processor markup. The company states that there are no additional fees unless you process less than $10,000/month in cards. If that’s you, expect an additional $35/month fee. Curious how the pricing stacks up to other processors you’re considering? Sign in to your CardFellow account and use the easy quote comparison tool to request pricing from PayJunction. Don’t have a CardFellow account yet? It’s free and signup only takes a minute. Sign up here.

The rate match option will (theoretically) match your current processor’s pricing.

PayJunction Reviews

PayJunction includes a limited selection of customer testimonials on its website. Customers praise the company for efficiency, convenience, and the digital signature option.

PayJunction has been accredited with the Better Business Bureau since 2011 and has an A+ rating, though there are no reviews available on the BBB’s website. The company has been around for nearly 20 years, so there are customer reviews available online, notably on Facebook and Yelp.

Facebook

PayJunction’s Facebook page shows 29 reviews for a total of 4.5 stars out of 5. The bulk of the reviews are positive (4 or 5 stars) with a few 1 star or 3 star reviews.

The positive reviews praise PayJunction for up to date technology, helpful and knowledgable customer service, and an overall great company. Many of the 5-star reviews don’t provide text commentary, and some are from users who list PayJunction as a previous employer.

The few negative reviews complain that PayJunction gave the run-around on getting set up and had aggressive and unprofessional sales staff cold-calling. Other negative reviews simply give a 1-star rating with no commentary. In both cases where customers left a comment, PayJunction responded to the reviews offering to set the customer up immediately and to discontinue the sales calls and speak with the rep who had made them.

Yelp

PayJunction sores 3.5 out of 5 stars on Yelp, from 3 reviews. Two 5-star reviews praise PayJunction, saying that the company offers outstanding service and great fees and provides helpful customer services. The sole 1-star review is not from a client but rather a prospective employee.
