Processing Point Review

Processing Point is a credit card processing company and the maker of the uAccept point of sale system. You can use uAccept without having a merchant account through Processing Point, but if you prefer an all-in-one solution, Processing Point can set you up to take cards. In this Processing Point review and profile, we’ll take a look at the company’s services, equipment options, customer reviews, and more so you can make an informed decision.

What services does Processing Point offer?

Processing Point is a company that offers in-person transaction processing using a point-of-sale system. You can accept all major credit and debit cards through Processing Point and its POS uAccept. You can also choose to accept Bitcoin payments. (Note that Bitcoin payments are subject to different rates and fees than credit and debit card payments. More details can be found in the Processing Point Rates and Fees section of this review and profile.

Anything else?

In addition to the payment services above, Processing Point offers seamless integration with QuickBooks and the ability to integrate Coinbase into uAccept for taking Bitcoin payments. Seamless bitcoin integration doesn’t require additional hardware.

What equipment does Processing Point offer?

Processing Point offers its own equipment, the uAccept point of sale system. There are two different versions, the MB3000 and MB2000. A primary difference between the systems is the screen size () but both options feature a touch screen, internal printer, 5-bill cash drawer, encrypted magstripe card reader for credit card payments, and optional barcode scanner.

The uAccept point of sale systems start at $449.

Processing Point Rates and Fees

Like many companies, Processing Point doesn’t publish much rate or fee information for merchant accounts on its website. However, Processing Point is active in the CardFellow marketplace, so if you’d like a fully disclosed quote specific to your business, it’s as easy as requesting one through this profile.

The rates and fees that Processing Point does publish is for Bitcoin acceptance. Processing Point states that taking Bitcoin will cost $9.99/month and $0.25 per transaction. You can also convert your bitcoin to dollars for a 1% conversion fee.

uAccept POS Rates and Fees

In addition to credit card processing fees (whether that’s through Processing Point or another processor) you’ll need to pay uAccept fees to use the point of sale system. uAccept pricing is a monthly subscription starting at $39/month, with each additional POS costing $19/month. The optional text messaging system is another $19.99/month.

What about contracts?

Processing Point states that there is no contract to use the uAccept system. Additionally, the company states that there is no contract for merchant accounts.

Processing Point Reviews

Unfortunately, there’s not much to say here. There are no customer reviews at any of the usual channels, such as Yelp and Ripoff Report. In the case of the latter, that could be a good thing.

Additionally, Processing Point doesn’t list any reviews or customer testimonials on its website.

Finally, there is no Better Business Bureau accreditation or even profile. On the plus side, it means that it’s likely no complaints have been lodged with the BBB.

Processing Point can help businesses take cards, but it would be nice to see a bigger range of supported POS systems, especially since the POS system through Processing Point incurs an additional fee.
