Dejavoo V8 Review

The V8 terminal processes magnetic strip credit and debit cards. The V8 PLUS terminal can process virtually any card types, including magnetic strip, EMV, and contactless payments such as MasterCard’s PayPass and Visa payWave. The terminals both boast transaction authorization in as little as 3 seconds when properly connected.

The V8 series terminals are designed to make processing fast, safe, and convenient for merchants and customers. The terminals offer store and forward technology, programmable "hot keys" and backlit displays for better visibility in low light environments. Merchants also have the ability to add tips, making the terminal perfect for restaurants, salons, and other service industries.

Security

The V8 credit card terminal is PCI compliant and supports international security standards, including DES, TDES, DUKPT, and more. Additionally, the V8 terminals offer risk notifications for any suspicious transactions before settling, alerting merchants to potentially fraudulent activity.

Features

The terminal also offers store and forward for times when connections for authorization and processing aren’t available. With store and forward, merchants can accept payments, save them to the terminal’s internal memory, and automatically forward them for processing and approval when a connection becomes available.

Connectivity and Communication

The Dejavoo V8 terminal connects either using a high-speed Ethernet cable or dialup with a traditional phone line. An optional WiFi adapter is available for the V8 PLUS model for merchants who would prefer to connect wirelessly.

Display and Keypad

The V8 terminal boasts a high contrast backlit screen for enhanced visibility, with a generous 2.4" LCD display. V8 terminals come with an integrated 15 key backlit keypad. The terminals also feature the ability to customize "hot keys" for commonly needed functions.

The V8 terminals are designed to offer maximum features in a small, convenient size terminal. The handset is 175mm L x 79mm W x 62mm D. The base is 149mm L x 75mm W x 40mm D.

Memory

The Dejavoo V8 terminal features 128MB of flash memory and 64MB of SDRAM. For merchants who want more memory, the V8 terminals offer a Micro SD card slot for memory expansion.

Printer

The V8 terminals feature a built-in printer for fast and easy customer receipt printing. The printer accepts 58mm paper width and has a max paper roll of 40mm.

Accessories

The Dejavoo V8 terminal includes a USB port, allowing USB peripherals to connect. The USB port also allows for easy software installations and upgrades.
