Leap Payments provides card processing for all major credit and debit cards, including Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. Leap Payments also offers optional next day funding for merchant accounts so that you’ll get your funds fast. Next day funding has an additional monthly fee of $9.95 or less, depending on processing volume.
For merchants who would like to offer gift cards for sale, Leap Payments has a gift card solution. 50 standard gift cards come free with every new merchant account.
Leap Payments offers merchants the ability to process checks electronically. Leap Payments’ optional check guarantee helps take away the uncertainty of bounced checks and ensures merchants get paid quickly.
For online transaction processing, Leap Payments offers Converge virtual terminal with the ability to accept major credit cards, including Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. Merchants can also set up recurring payments, such as monthly subscriptions. The virtual terminal integrates easily with your website’s shopping cart. Merchants can optionally use a USB credit card swiper to get a lower swiped card processing rate.
Converge uses tokenization for added security and to protect customer data and help prevent fraud.
Converge can be accessed from any computer with internet or a cell phone with a browser, increasing the number of locations where merchants can take payments.
Leap Payments has a number of industry-specific solutions available, for the following industries:
Industry-specific solutions are tailored to the needs of the particular industry, and can be further tailored to your specific business needs.
Leap Payments has two different pricing options. The company offers interchange plus pricing for merchants, regardless of volume or transaction type. For merchants who process a majority of card-present transactions, Leap Payments offers tiered pricing to provide a fixed rate for each card type.
Leap Payments boasts no startup fees, statement fees, or compliance fees.
Leap Payments boasts 24 hour a day, 7 days per week support. Support is provided in part through partner Elavon.
Leap Payments offers credit card machines for purchase with merchant accounts. For customers who don’t want to buy a machine outright, Leap Payments rents terminals at low monthly rates. Leap Payments currently offers the following terminals:
Ingenico iWL 250
Features vary by model, but may include built-in printers, integrated PIN pads, support for credit, debit, and gift cards, ability to process voids, refunds, and tips, EMV-capability, and more. Additionally, Leap Payments has a rating system on their website, grading the available terminals on several key factors like speed and reliability.
Leap Payments doesn’t specify standard contract terms. The company does offer seasonal downtime for some merchants, and offers a 3-month trial period for merchants.
For qualified merchants who process over $10,000/month but are in an existing contract with another company and subject to an early termination fee, Leap Payments will pay your early termination fee.
Leap Payments has been accredited with the Better Business Bureau since 2009 and currently has an A rating, the highest available. The company has had 3 complaints closed with the BBB in the past 3 years, with only 1 in the past 12 months. 2 complaints are in the "Billing/Collection Issues" category, and the other 1 complaint is in the "Problems with Product/Service" category.
The complaints allege that the company continued to charge a monthly fee after cancellation, and used deceptive business practices in not explaining contract terms. All complaints are listed as resolved with assistance from the BBB.
Leap Payments does not have reviews on Yelp! or Ripoff Report, and there is little negative information online about the company.
Leap Payments has a section for customer testimonials on their website. Reviewers praise the company’s helpfulness, next-day funding, great cost savings, ease of switching from another processor, and transparency. There are dozens of testimonials available, and all reviews include the reviewer’s name and the company name.
Unlike general web reviews, verified reviews are posted by businesses that have chosen the processor's quote through CardFellow's marketplace, and CardFellow has confirmed with the processor that the business is using its service. Businesses can update verified reviews at any time to ensure the review accurately reflects the processor's performance over time.
Unlike verified reviews which are validated by CardFellow, web reviews can be submitted by anyone viewing this profile. While we validate these reviews as best we can, CardFellow does not verify that a reviewer is using or has used a processor's service.

Not a good experience at all! The rates were not properly explained in writing or over the phone, hidden fees and an annual fee that I was never told about. When I called about the excessive fees taken out I was told to do business elsewhere! Now that I have moved the are charging me a MTOT disc. Ridiculous!

Leap Payments has been one of the best companies I have ever used. We have been accepting credit cards at our lodge for 15+ years, but never received the level of service like we have from Leap.
