What services does Capital Bankcard provide?

If you want to accept payment cards, whether in-store, ecommerce, mail/phone orders, or while on-the-go, Capital Bankcard can do the processing for you. The company also offers gift/loyalty programs and cash advances.

Credit and Debit Card Processing

Credit? Debit? No problem. Capital Bankcard can get you set up to accept all major brands of credit and debit (though American Express may require separate approval). More payment options means easier sales and Capital Bankcard has plenty of equipment options to help you take cards.

In-Store Processing

Retailers, restaurants, salons, or any businesses tied to a storefront location can benefit from accepting card payments. Whether you take magstripe cards, EMV chip cards, or contactless payments, Capital BankCard offers full featured point-of-sale systems or standard terminals that can get the job done.

Ecommerce and Mail/Phone Orders

Capital Bankcard offers the popular Authorize.Net gateway for those who need to accept payments online; whether as a means to connect with customers through your website or to facilitate mail/phone orders.

Authorize.net allows customers to purchase items or services easily through your website and integrated shopping cart. It also features a virtual terminal that allows you to key-in transactions on any online computer. A virtual terminal is a great option for call centers and it can also be used to set up scheduled and recurring payments.

Mobile Processing

Are you running a business that keeps you on the run? Mobile processing is a great way to accept card payments whether you are traveling to different tradeshows, delivering goods, or preforming services at various locations. With Capital Bankcard you have options for accepting payments on your smartphone or using a wireless terminal so you can take payments wherever a sale takes you.

Gift/Loyalty Program

Gift cards are great ways to expand the influence of your business and loyalty programs help keep customers coming back. Capital Bankcard offers both options and can personalize the programs to meet your needs. Both programs have tracking features as well, so you can keep an eye on spending habits and record useful customer information.

Merchant Cash Advance

Capital Bankcard offers merchant cash advances for businesses in need of working capital. You can receive up to $150,000 dollars for business expenses. Look before you leap into to a merchant cash advance, though. These offers tend to seem like better deals than they really are and can end up costing you a lot of money.

Any equipment offers through Capital Bankcard?

Capital Bankcard’s website boasts free terminals for anyone who signs up to process with the company. Free terminal offers are sometimes bundled with excessive fees that quickly make up the cost.

If you are interested in equipment with Capital Bankcard, they can provide a variety of options for terminals, wireless terminals, check readers, and more. The equipment is from popular brands like Nurit, Hypercom, Verifone, and others. Features will vary depending on the model chosen.

Capital Bankcard Reviews

There aren’t an overwhelming number of bad reviews for Capital Bankcard, but the main complaint seems to be deceptive bait-and-switch sale practices.

Yelp Reviews

There are 8 glowing reviews on Yelp listed under Capital Bankcard at a California location. All of them are 5 stars, they say an employee named Matt is the best, the company has great rates, no cancellation fees, no contracts, no service fees, and…wait, all of these reviews are posted around the same time frame, mention Matt personally, and one of them thinks they are using Capital One as a processor. Maybe we should disregard these and look into what the others have to say.

Reviews at the BBB

Checking the Better Business Bureau is always a good place to start, Capital Bankcard has been accredited with the BBB since 2011 and currently has an A rating. There have been 16 complaints closed in the last 3 years. This is a relatively modest number of complaints. Reviewers complain of not getting the rates they were promised, being charged fees they weren’t told about, pushy and deceptive representatives, and difficulty cancelling accounts. Unauthorized debits and held funds are also reported.

Capital Bankcard has 8 total reviews with the BBB as well; 7 are negative and 1 is positive. The positive review claims great service with Capital Bankcard (in case you were curious, it mentions nothing about Matt). The negative reviews claim problems with equipment, hidden fees, bad customer service, and account errors. The company did make an effort to respond to most of the reviews.

Ripoff Report Reviews

Ripoff Report has 7 complaints for Capital Bankcard. These reviews also allege that customer service is unreachable when you have an issue. The complaints of aggressive and manipulative sales tactics are also echoed by the reviewers here.

Final Thoughts

It’s important to remember that this is a small sample of the clients that Capital Bankcard serves. The company states on its website that it is working with over 80,000 different businesses. The truth is that sales tactics will vary with the representative you get, as does pricing depending on your business needs; if something seems too good to be true, it’s a good idea to take a closer look and make sure you know what you are getting into.

ABSOLUTELY THE WORST CREDIT CARD PROCESSOR!!!! Stay away if you don't want a major headache. You cannot access any of your account information online. Their website is AWFUL and you can even see your billing statements!! Oh and when trying to call customer service, be expected to wait long periods of time, only to talk to someone who doesn't even know what they are doing, and get hung up on before getting transferred to a department. I've tried calling 3 times to get my account cancelled only to end up on a wild goose chase. Apparently they've merged with a place called TSYS and this company doesn't even have a legit working website. You click on most things and it says page doesn't exist. WTF?! I only signed up for this processor because of my web developer uses them... Had to call my bank and dispute charges. Trust someone like paypal. You'll be much happier without the migraine.
