BluePay Gateway Review

Gateways

Maybe you’re already familiar with BluePay as a payment processor and are interested in learning more about its gateway solution to enable online payments. The BluePay gateway offers a range of features and integrates easily with many popular services.

Read on to learn whether BluePay’s payment gateway is right for your business.

What is BluePay?

BluePay is a payment processing company that provides services to businesses based in the US and Canada. The company offers a payment gateway for online payment acceptance, although it also sells a POS system. BluePay is based in the suburbs of Chicago.

Using the BluePay Gateway

BluePay is a payment processor as well as a payment gateway. It does not offer gateway services separately, meaning that if you want to use the BluePay gateway to take credit cards through your website, you’ll need a merchant account with BluePay.

However, the gateway does integrate with many existing shopping carts and ecommerce platforms, including OpenCart, WordPress, Magento, WooCommerce, Prestashop, and more.

BluePay Features

BluePay’s features include hosted payment pages, virtual terminal, reporting, recurring billing and electronic invoicing, Levels 2 and 3 credit card processing, and PayPal integration.

Hosted Payment Pages

BluePay offers hosted payment forms for quick and secure checkouts. You can design your own page or pick a form that works for your business. BluePay will host the form on a secure server and provide a URL to embed in your website. Payments are securely processed by BluePay when customers enter payment information, and you’ll receive transaction details and information for easy tracking.

Virtual Terminal

If you take orders over the phone or by mail, you need a way to enter credit card details so you can process those transactions. BluePay’s virtual terminal lets you key in check or credit card details or swipe cards if they’re present.

Recurring Billing and Invoicing

If you offer subscription services or other products that require recurring billing, BluePay enables you to customize your billing schedule and email invoices so you receive your payments on time. Paper bills are so last century. Your customers can pay online thanks to BluePay’s electronic billing and invoicing function. Here’s another plus: you save money by not mailing out bills.

Levels 2 and 3 Credit Card Processing

Level 1 credit card processing is for consumer credit cards. B2B customers and governments use Level 2 and Level 3 credit cards, which contain more information and require more details at the time of sale. You can process those credit card payments with BluePay without headaches.

PayPal Integration

Many of your customers want to pay by PayPal. Give them the freedom to do so with BluePay’s PayPal integration. You can accept one-time or recurring PayPal payments, and the transactions will be processed on one platform.

Security

BluePay is PCI compliant. The payment gateway offers a number of security measures to protect its clients and shoppers. One of those measures is point-to-point encryption (P2PE). P2PE turns credit card data into an unbreakable code from the moment the card is swiped. BluePay also utilizes tokenization, which replaces data with digital symbols hackers can’t use.

In addition, BluePay’s fraud filters screen and identify potentially fraudulent activity, saving you time and money. The gateway’s hosted payment pages mean that you reduce your risk because BluePay handles customer data. And a secure automated phone credit card processing system lets your customers pay over the telephone without sacrificing their peace of mind.

You can also take advantage of Address Verification Services (AVS) and CVV codes. With AVS, you can verify the customer’s address with the address on file with the credit card company. CVV is used to verify the 3 digit security code on the back of a credit card to ensure that the customer has the card in their possession.

Reporting

A convenient feature with the BluePay gateway is the ability to track transactions from all channels (online, mobile, and brick-and-mortar) in one place. You can customize reports, and BluePay also integrates with QuickBooks for easy reconciliation.

The BluePay gateway has helpful features like recurring billing options and integration with QuickBooks. A downside is that it only works with BluePay, so you don't have a choice of processors.
