The ProcessNow payment system is a credit card acceptance solution designed for processor TSYS and TransFirst. It includes two different options, the ProcessNow Register and ProcessNow Mobile. While the Register is designed as a stationary, in-store point of sale system, Mobile is more portable and flexible.
This review is about ProcessNow Mobile. If you’re looking for information on the stationary ProcessNow Register POS system, go here.
ProcessNow Mobile replaces the TSYS MobilePASS, and can be used by itself or in conjunction with the ProcessNow Register. If you’re looking for a mobile payment solution, here’s what you need to know about the option available from TSYS.
A nice thing about the Mobile solution is that it can be used on tablets or on smartphones, allowing you to take credit and debit cards anywhere your customers want to pay. You can set up your system to allow customers to add a tip, and next-day funding is available so that you can get your money quickly.
As you can see in these screenshots, the app provides a screen where you can manually enter card information, or choose cash or check to record the sale even if it’s not a card transaction. You can also capture signatures.
If you don’t want to carry around a portable printer, you can take advantage of the option to email receipts to customers. You can view transaction history online, create reports, and export key information to Excel or PDF files for further review and reconciliation.
24/7 US-based customer support is included, so if you do have a problem, you can reach a technician to help.
The Mobile app is compatible with iPhones, Android smartphones, iPad Minis, and Google Nexus 7 tablets. You can jump down to the bottom of this review for links to the app in the Google Play store (for Google and Android) or the iTunes app store.
As a mobile processing solution, there isn’t a lot of hardware required. You’ll need at minimum a compatible smartphone or tablet, as noted in the Compatible Devices section, above. Beyond that, you can choose if you’d like to add a mobile swiper for quicker and more secure card acceptance – the Mobile solution supports AnywhereCommerce Rambler swipers. Swipers connect via headphone jack or Bluetooth, depending on the model.
Additionally, if you’re taking payments using a tablet, you can choose whether you’d like to use the tablet stand. The tablet stand for mobile is only available for the Google Nexus 7 tablet, but an iPad Mini stand is in the works. The tablet stand is available in your choice of 6 colors: Black, white, green, orange, red, or yellow.
Yes, you can use both the Mobile and Register options. When using the two different payment acceptance methods, your transaction history will still be consolidated for easy review and sales tracking. Using both Mobile and Register is a good option for businesses that need both a stationary, in-store point of sale system and a mobile solution for payments on the go.
The ProcessNow website doesn’t publish pricing for the Rambler mobile swipers, as the pricing will be set by the company from whom you purchase it. Processors that work with the TSYS platform may be able to support ProcessNow Mobile, and can provide you with the costs of purchasing the swiper. You can also sign up at CardFellow to get pricing for the equipment and your processing. See the next section for more details.
As with the Register, costs for Mobile are is set by the processing company that you choose. Processors that work with TSYS can support ProcessNow, but your business specifics will affect what your costs will be. The easiest and most reliable way to get accurate pricing is to request a free, no-obligation price check using CardFellow’s quote request tool. There’s no cost to use it, and we keep your contact information private. Click here to get pricing.
